A Message from CEO Chris Armstrong

Never resting on the laurels of our 125 year plus history or the market leading position of our RedBrand® products, KCI continues to invest in our future on all fronts of our business.

At our Keystone Steel & Wire Steel mill in Peoria, IL, the continual capital advancements made to our melt shop have most recently been augmented by a multimillion dollar investment to our rod and wire mills which enable us to produce some of the most exacting high carbon and CHQ grade steel and wire products. These new product capabilities extend our product offerings to existing and new customers and enter new end product markets.

In addition, Keystone-Calumet, our bar mill in Chicago Heights, IL, completed a major pass design and control upgrade which improved both quality and production time. These benefits are already being felt by our customers.

Engineered Wire Products, our structural mesh company in Upper Sandusky, OH, which serves the pre-cast and cast-in-place construction market, significantly increased its market presence with the acquisitions of two competitor facilities, Reinforcement Systems in Las Cruces, NM and Van Merksteijn U.S.A. in Warren, OH. These acquisitions significantly expanded EWP’s capacity, geographic reach into the West and Northeast and expanded their product offering to include tunnel mesh.

KCI will continue to take every opportunity to improve, grow and leverage our advantage as an integrated steel mill for the benefit of our customers and thereby KCI’s stakeholders and employees.

Strategic vision, hard work and co-operation are vital in achieving this growth and I thank our employees, suppliers and customers for their past, current and future support.
